The
cockpit of Reel Awesome is approx 130
sq/ft in size and is fitted with the finest ALL-STAINLESS "Cyril Jordon" game
chair available and made in New Zealand. While not shown here, a 3rd helm station has recently
been added to the cockpit allowing for extra maneuverability by the skipper when the fish is close to the boat. This also
allows the skipper to keep in close touch with the angler and decky should it be
needed. A live bait tank is fitted in the transom which doubles as a Tuna-Tube
as well as kill tank when bottom fishing. For your convenience, a wash basin
with hot & cold fresh water is located in the cockpit.
The cockpit is 12vdc & 230v AC Halogen flood-kit. Night turns into daylight with the 230V AC halogen's and in fact, they are so powerful, baitfish swarm to the back of the boat within easy picking's of the keen anglers bait rods. They even attract white-bait when in-season and we have a white-bait net on-board for just such an occasion.
The Skipper, Rick Jacobson has over 26 years of recreational & commercial experience in the fishing and diving industry. Rick has fished extensively from the Three Kings Islands down to Great Barrier Island but without doubt Rick has built up a formidable level of local knowledge in the Whangaroa area.
Rick started off game fishing from a private boat called Awesome Too and quickly became the top game boat for the Auckland Sportfishing club, winning all trophies for most marlin many times over. Rick then moved to the more productive fishing grounds of Whangaroa with Awesome Too and again quickly became what many claim as the top private boat for the Whangaroa Gamefishing club for many years. It was inevitable that Rick would be lured into chartering and this was accomplished with the purchase of "Reel Awesome", a vessel that was specifically purchased for its capability of fishing as far away as the Three Kings Islands in great safety and comfort.
The fully enclosable flybridge is the largest of all Riviera's. It is HUGE!! Seating for 6x passengers plus crew in absolute luxury.
The flybridge provides for a commanding view of the cockpit and all rods and lures in the water while also providing for superb spotting ability in a 360 degree view of the water.
The Saloon has seating for 6 in a wrap-around sumptuous leather settee. The entertainment centre provides colour T.V., DVD and VHS. and surround sound CD stereo. 12vdc and 230AC is provided for your convenience with plenty of charging points.
The Galley is ALL-ELECTRIC for safety with a 4x element CERAN top & Convection Microwave. Refrigeration is in the form of a 230 litre upright custom built Eutectic fridge in the galley and 200 litre Eutectic freezer in the cockpit.
Reel Awesome is newly fitted with the latest technology Spectra Desalinator (water maker) providing unlimited, beautifull tasting water.
